This is released in the UK on the 23/07/2024 and in the UK is priced at £12.79.

INTRODUCTION

Exophobia is a retro inspired sci fi fps with a Metroidvania progression.

FEATURES

• Experience FPS gameplay where quick reflexes and clever positioning are vital to survive. Learn each enemy behavior and use your weapon, movement options and surroundings to eliminate diverse groups of alien armies in fast paced action filled combat.
• Discover a spaceship with multiple floors, each featuring a unique hostile environment. From worm infested laboratories to the mechanical inner workings of the spaceship engine, with plenty of secrets for the curious explorers!
• Improve your weapon with a new ability every time you reach a specialized weapon laboratory. In Metroidvania fashion, these abilities drastically empower you in combat and also unlock previously inaccessible areas required to progress.
• Challenge yourself with unforgiving but fair difficulty in diverse battle situations with ruthless enemies possessing unique attack patterns, including menacing boss fights, each with their own defeating strategy. Don’t forget to save your progress in checkpoints!

FAN ART

Controls are easy to pick up and play for everyone as not alot of buttons or complexity to the controls nice and retro.

Enemies are cool as alot of variety to them and all have own look and all have own attacks to them to learn in order to beat them and will chase and mob and surprise you.

Difficulty options are nice as even on easy is still challenging and difficulty options are nice as suits everyone.

Levels are fun to explore and are full of secrets and have own vibe to them.

Retro vibe to the game and is very nostalgic and fun.

Retro graphics style that is nice and detailed.

No real story made it hard for me to connect with the character.

Easy to get lost as needs objective marker or waypoint system as often got lost trying to figure out where to go.

OVERALL SUMMARY

Overall has easy controls that are easy to pick up and play with cool enemies that all have own look and attacks with nice difficulty options to suit everyone and the levels are fun to explore and full of secrets with retro graphics and big nostalgic vibes. However for “£12.79, no real story made me not feel connected with the character and easy to get lost as needs a waypoint system or objective marker to show you where to go.
