Controls are easy to learn and pick up.

Can be difficult as even on easy with all the accessibility features on is still challenging easy not get first or easy get penalties.

No character creation for story mode made it hard to pick person and made me not care about who was using for story mode.

Handling is arcade like and kinda stiff and not as smooth as was hoping for.

OVERALL SUMMARY

Overall the art style is detailed and has a nice retro art style with nice accessibility options and alot of modes which all have own feel to them and the cars are cool as all have own look to them and own stats and feel to them and the controls are nice and easy to learn and tracks own feel and look to them. However for £15.99, can be difficult even on easy with all the accessibility options on and the handling is stiff, clunky, arcade like and no character creation made it hard to care about anyone who picked to play as on story mode.

Slow speed of the game very chilled but need more sense of urgency as to chilled.

Overall the story is interesting, being able place tiles to make own layout is awesome as totally up to you build your own world and the characters you meet all have own look and personality with nice difficulty options and crafting and cooking very cool. However for £15.99, the combat and movement is slow and clunky and not as smooth as hoped for and needs more urgency on tasks as very slow pace of gameplay and alot of grinding alot of need X to make Y and can be annoying trying to farm specific items from trees such as feathers as not guarantee to drop them.

OTHERWAR is an surprising mash-up of Tower Defense & Bullet Hell games. Build and manage fortifications to defend the Gate of Heaven against the Hordes of Hell, while soaring over the battlefields as the defender Angel, and meet the monsters in direct combat!

FEATURES

• BANISH THE HELLSPAWN. Embody the role of the defender angel who has been called forth to stem the tide of an encroaching hell horde. It falls upon your halo to plan out the defenses, however your adversaries shall not stand idly as they will blot out the sun with fire just to clip your wings. Yet, you are not defenseless as the angel can smite enemies on his own if need be.
• BRAVE THE BULLET HELL. Unlike other Tower Defense games, Otherwar’s cast of enemies will keep you on your toes as almost every enemy fires a different kind of projectile. From the ever-following eyeballs to slowly approaching wide spider webs and patterns of swirling leaves cast by undead treants. Amidst the chaos of battle, you will also have to be on the look-out for certain enemies such as necromancers, who, if allowed to linger for too long, will raise skeletons from the dead that may overwhelm your defenses.
• BUILD THE TOWER DEFENSE. Before each mission you will have a chance to select towers and skills that will aid you in battle. From straight-forward offensive towers to more situational constructs such as slowing fields that will bog down approaching enemies or emplacements that shoot down incoming projectiles. Besides structures, the angel can also upgrade his own skills during the battle and acquire new abilities between missions. Making each of the 9 levels a puzzle for you to solve.

Story is cool and interesting and reminds me of Saturday morning tv show and has alot of cheezy humor.

Controls are easy to pick up and easy to understand.

Enemies are cool as alot of variety to them and all have own look and own attacks to learn to beat them.

Units are cool as all have own look and own stats and own uses aswell and fun use jet bike and power suit as very fun and also very cool if your buildings are alive they will spawn new units without needing more resources.

Heroes are cool as both have own uses and own look and feel to them such as Clawz ability to repair units and buildings very good for defence and Chips ability to overdrive units to move and attack faster to buildings ability to speed up spawning units.

Art style is nice and detailed with stuff to find and very fun with multiple points of interest.

Collectables and upgrades are cool as adds more lore and also different upgrades to suit own playstyle or to help with certain missions.

Buildings can be fiddly and easy place wrong way such as turrets face wrong way especially in battle as can be hectic placing them while being attacked.

Some of the levels and some of the challenges can be tricky to complete as may take bunch of tries.

No reason to replay the levels as can get all the collectables and stuff on first play of level or if not bothered by them then no reason to replay the level.

OVERALL SUMMARY

Overall the story is fun with easy pick up controls and enemies and units all have own look and own feel and uses to them with nice art style reminds me of old Saturday morning cartoons and collectables and upgrades are cool and have own uses and more lore to the game. However for £24.99, Buildings can be fiddly as easy to place turrets facing the wrong way especially in battle and some levels and challenges can be tricky and if not bothered by the collectables no reason to replay levels again.
